Introduction and Applications

Biscem Bis-Xtra is a specially prepared polymer enhanced cement based adhesive which only requires the addition of water, for use as a thin and thick bed adhesive, for internal and external floor and wall tiling.  Biscem Bis-Xtra tile adhesive may be used for fixing fully vitrified tiles, porcelain stoneware, ceramic floor and wall tiles, ceramic and glass mosaics, terrazzo tiles and slabs, brickslips, natural and artificial stone-cladding and concrete tiles.

  
Biscem Bis-Xtra is suitable for use on mature cement rendered surfaces, dense concrete, aerated concrete, brickwork, sand blinded asphalt (internal only), plasterboard and exterior grade plywood.  Sound and clean plaster surfaces, vinyl tiles and smooth asphalt surfaces require priming with Biscem Flexibond.  Biscem Bis-Xtra is unaffected by frost and water after setting and is suitable for external installations.  Bis-Xtra is suitable for use in and around swimming pools.

Quality and Standards

Biscem Bis-Xtra conforms to:

• BS 5980 Type 1 Class AA, adhesives for use with Ceramic Tiles and Mosaics.
• BS 5385 Part 1 : 1976 - Wall tiling - Internal Ceramic Wall Tiling and Mosaics in Normal Conditions.
• BS 5385 Part 2 : 1978 - Wall Tiling - Internal Ceramic Wall Tiling and Mosaics.
• BS 5385 : 1986 - Code of Practice for Wall and Floor Tiling Part 4 - Ceramic Tiling and Mosaics in specific conditions.

Biscem Bis-Xtra is manufactured under a BSI approved quality system to EN ISO 9002 and conforms to the requirements of BS 5980 Type 1 Class AA.
